Quick Story Snippet
They lifted the cover. Cold air whooshed out. Ava drew chalk arrows while Zip played music. The tunnel smelled sweet, like mint from the bakery. The cupcakes giggled, “Smells yummy!” Leo spotted a rusty wheel. “The main valve!” he guessed.
Ava grabbed the wheel, but it wouldn’t move. Zip tried with his metal arm, but it slipped. Sprinkles shouted, “Use sugar power!” The cupcakes scattered shiny sugar on the rust. Ava added fizzy bubbles with her blower to make a paste.
The paste sizzled on the rusty wheel. “Teamwork time!” Leo yelled. He held one spoke, Ava held another, and Zip counted, “One, two, three—turn!” With a strong twist, the wheel spun. Far away, they heard water rush and cheer.
Water splashed at their boots. Suddenly, the wheel broke off! Water kept gushing. Ava took a deep breath and thought, “Let’s adapt.” She grabbed string and chalk. Leo held his map. Ideas sparked in her brain.
