Ravi & The Volcano City

Lower KS2 Starter, Approx age 7-8

Theme + Topics

Mindfulness & Calm

- Ravi and Spark test Lava-Looper boots on Dragon’s Mouth volcano, discovering ancient tech and helping Queen Trixie and Zip fix a jammed pump before battling a magma monster.

- Together, they use teamwork and calm thinking to save the lost dino city from flooding, rerouting seawater underground and restoring peace.

- In the city’s celebration, Ravi chooses a simple reward for Spark, and with Queen Trixie’s wisdom, they end the adventure ready for future challenges.

My son Ravi adores volcanoes, time machines, and dinosaurs. He dreams of building his own gadgets, especially inventions that include secret doors or teleportation buttons. His best friend is his pet parakeet, Spark, who he wishes could talk. Ravi is always pretending he’s on mysterious islands, exploring with his explorer’s journal and backpack. He’d love a story about discovering a lost city under an active volcano, with dinosaur friends, a mischievous parakeet sidekick, and a race against time to save the day using his own wild inventions.

Quick Story Snippet

Glowing footprints led downward. Ravi, Spark, and Zip hurried into magma labyrinths. Fire rivers glowed under glass bridges. Suddenly—a roar steamed the air. Up rose the magma monster, vast and oozy, with Auntie’s teapot for a helmet. “Fashion fail!” Spark squawked.

Lava globes exploded at Ravi’s feet. He skipped away. Heart thundering, he counted: one, two, three, four. Ideas sparkled. “Zip!” he shouted, “Redirect the vent steam!” Zip flung himself at the controls. Ravi baited the monster onto thin rocks, boots springing beneath him, while Spark squawked mock instructions.

A jet of icy steam burst from the vents. The ledge sizzled. The monster froze mid-roar—then cracked into stony chunks. From the rubble, the metal cube rolled out, pristine and humming. Zip cheered. Spark swooped and did an aerial cartwheel for three imaginary judges.

Quick as a pin, Ravi slotted the cube into place in the pump room. Gears spun like a happy chorus. Rainbow light danced on the cave walls. Cold water gushed through pipes, humming volcano to sleep. The lost city exhaled relief, peppermint-scented mist puffing from the vents.
